Former Smash Mouth lead singer Steve Harwell has died at age 56 from liver failure. Best known for their 1999 hit "All Star". RIP

Gary Wright, best known for his 70's hit 'Dream Weaver' has died at the age of 80. RIP

A sudden sad rush there. Smash Mouth's best UK success was "Walking on the Sun" which still rocks. I think "All Star" is just being used in some advertising campaign here. RIP all though 

Bruce Guthro, contributor to the band Runrig, died at 62. RIP 

Easy listening multi-lingual legend Roger Whittaker died at 87. RIP 

Rudolf Isley, of the Isley Brothers, has died at 84. He sang on Summer Breeze and others. RIP 

Sean Martin, 26 year old front man of The Night Cafe, has died.

Founding member/drummer of Kool & The Gang, George Brown, has died at the age of 74 after battling cancer. RIP

Very sad to hear that Mars Williams, saxophonist of Psychedelic Furs, had died at the age of 69. He had been battling ampullary cancer for a little over a year. RIP

Shane McGowan, mercurial frontman of Irish 1980s band the Pogues, has died after a short battle with encephalitis. He was 65. RIP 

Rocker Denny Laine has died at 79, having suffered with lung cancer. In the 1960s, he was part of the early phase of the Moody Blues, during such big hits as Go Now. He later joined Wings, co-writing the mega-selling Mull Of Kintyre (though I gather he sold the rights). RIP

Legendary American DJ, Jim Ladd, has died at 75. He was immortalised by Tom Petty in his 2002 track The Last DJ, among other respects. RIP 

American actor and occasional singer David Soul has died at 80. He had 2 #1 singles in the UK in 1977, which were 2 of the top 5 selling singles of that year.

Sorry to read of the death of Tony Clarkin, part of the heart of Magnum for many, many years, and they've just got a new album out on Friday, I think. He was 77. RIP 

Radio DJ Annie Nightingale has died at the age of 83. She was one of the first female radio DJs here, and along with John Peel, rated as a great discoverer of new acts here. RIP 

Mary Weiss, lead singer of the Shangri-La's, has died at 75   RIP

Melanie, best recalled here for Brand New Key, has died at 76. RIP 

Just read that Wayne Kramer of the legendary MC5, has died at 75. RIP 

DJ Mallorca Lee, apparently of 90s dance hitsters Ultra Sonic, died at 51. RIP 

Derrick McIntyre, a bass player who's worked with Jamiroquai among others, was killed in a car crash the other day. He was 66. RIP

Sad to hear that Eric Carmen of The Raspberries has died at 74. He had big success with 'All By Myself', 'Hungry Eyes' & 'Make Me Lose Control'. RIP

Also passing yesterday was Karl Wallinger. He had been in the Waterboys, but was maybe better known for the brief 1990s success of his band World Party. He was 66   RIP

Very sad to hear of the passing of Clarence Frogman Henry. His biggest hits included "Ain't Got No Home" and "But I Do". He was 87.

Also, lead singer from the early 90's Rock Band Firehouse, C.J. Snare, has died at the age of 64. They were most famous for "Don't Treat Me Bad" and "Love Of A Lifetime".  RIP to both.
