I've been meaning to start this thread for ages. Some older names that come to mind include Justin Bieber, Boy George, Rick James, Chris Brown etc etc etc. Still, as the new year approaches, no time like the present. No doubt this should get interesting.

Meek Mill Found Guilty of Parole Violation, Faces Prison Time Next Year

Meek Mill faces a potential prison sentence early next year after a judge in Philadelphia found the rapper guilty of probation violations.

The judge said Thursday she's not sure she'll keep Mill on probation after he repeatedly ignored travel and other rules she set for him in recent years.

The 28-year-old rapper, born Robert Williams, cannot work or perform before the Feb. 5 hearing except for community service.

Mill testified that he knows his "whole life is on the line" and tried to follow the rules.

Mill says he has dropped old friends from his entourage to spend time with his family and girlfriend Nicki Minaj. She was in court with him.

Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley sent Mill back to jail for five months last year for similar violations.

The hotheaded R&B singer is under investigation for punching a woman in her right eye after she took his picture at a private party inside a Las Vegas casino, police said.

The alleged battery incident occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. Saturday inside at the Palms Casino Resort, said Lt. Jeff Goodwin of the Las Vegas police.

The punch occurred inside Brown’s suite in the sprawling hotel off the Las Vegas Strip, 8 News Now in Las Vegas reported.

Goodwin, citing the ongoing investigation, declined to provide any details.

But the victim, Liziane Gutierrez, left the party and called police, TMZ.com reported.

Were I a gambling man, I would have said Chris Brown was set to be the main star of a thread like this. And lo!

Model beaten by Boy George says singer should be axed from reality show

Former escort and model, Audun Carlsen, who was handcuffed and chained to a wall by Boy George says the BBC should be “ashamed of themselves” for hiring the singer and called for him to be axed from The Voice UK.
In April 2007, Carlsen, then aged 28, was chained, beaten and threatened with a sex toy at the musician's flat in Shoreditch, East London, where he had gone to model for a photo shoot.
The male escort fled the flat in his underpants and called the police.
Boy George was found guilty of assault and false imprisonment and jailed in 2009 for 15 months but was given early release after four months for good behaviour.
With the new series of The Voice UK kicking off next Saturday, Audun is devastated by Boy George’s TV role, telling The Sun: “The BBC should be ashamed of themselves for employing Boy George after everything he did to me.
"He shouldn’t be allowed to be a mentor they should axe him. He is a criminal who has been to prison.
"If a male celebrity beat up a woman with a chain, handcuffed her to a wall and threatened her with a sex toy, there would be a public outcry if he was given a high-profile job at the BBC.
"But because I am a gay man they think it’s OK. It’s outrageous.”
The 36-year-old added to The Sun that his life was ruined following the attack, and he has been in therapy for the last eight years.
He shared: “I thought I was moving on until I saw him on TV."
"I felt sick. It has put me back again. TV presenters are supposed to be role models and he clearly isn’t one. He has never once apologised or shown any hint of remorse.”

Donald Fagen, Steely Dan founder, charged with assaulting wife

Steely Dan founder Donald Fagen was charged Tuesday (Jan. 5) with assaulting his wife at their Manhattan home, according to law enforcement officials and court papers.

The 67-year-old former lead singer allegedly shoved Libby Titus into a marble window frame, knocking her to the ground Monday afternoon at their Upper East Side apartment. The assault caused Titus, 68, to "suffer bruising and swelling to her right arm, as well as substantial pain," according to the criminal complaint.

The two officials were not authorized to disclose the victim's name and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

Fagen was charged with charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment. His publicist had no comment.

Fagen launched Steely Dan in 1972 with guitarist Walter Becker. The group went on to sell more than 40 million albums, with such hit singles as "Reelin' In the Years," ''Rikki Don't Lose that Number" and "Deacon Blues." It was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.

Becker and Fagen performed an eight-night residency at New York's Beacon Theatre in October with a newer iteration of the band.

Titus is a producer, actor and songwriter and put out two albums in the late 1970s with producers Phil Ramone, Paul Simon, Carly Simon and Robbie Robertson.

Fagen was released without bail Tuesday after a brief court appearance. He was ordered to stay away from Titus.

'American Pie' singer Don McLean arrested for domestic assault

Don McLean, the singer-songwriter who penned the 1971 hit "American Pie," was arrested at his home in Camden, Maine on Jan. 18 for domestic assault.
The arrest came after police responded to a 911 call in the early morning hours. Their investigation led to the filing of a domestic violence assault charge — a misdemeanor — against the 70-year-old musician.

Police Chief Randy Gagne told local paper The Camden Herald that McLean was arrested without incident and there were no injuries at the scene that required medical attention. The singer was brought to Knox County Jail. He left after posting bail. He'll now face the charges on Feb. 22, when he's scheduled to appear in Knox County District Court.
Any other details surrounding the case, including other involved parties and the circumstances that led to the domestic violence charge, remain a mystery.

SIR Cliff Richard will learn if he faces criminal charges over historic sex allegations in weeks, it was claimed yesterday.
The singer, 75, has denied allegations he abused at least two boys in the 1980s.
Detectives are wrapping up an 18-month investigation and preparing to send a dossier to the CPS, which will decide whether to press charges. Officers raided the star’s £3million mansion at Sunningdale, Berks, in August 2014.
Sir Cliff was then quizzed by cops from South Yorkshire Police over allegations he sexually abused a teenage boy, now 40, at a concert in Sheffield in 1985.
He was quizzed again last November over two new claims, including an alleged assault of a boy while filming a video in 1981.
Sir Cliff has barely returned to his British home since the raid, spending most of his time in Portugal and Barbados.
Anti-sex abuse campaigner Mark William-Thomas said: “The file is expected to go to the Crown Prosecution Service within the next eight weeks.”
A source close to the investigation said: “Police are still pursuing lines of enquiry from the interview with Sir Cliff in November.”
Spokesmen for Sir Cliff and South Yorks Police would not comment.

Rapper Troy Ave Is Arrested After Fatal Shooting at T.I. Concert

The concertgoers hunkered against the balcony railing on the third floor of Irving Plaza, the concert venue in Manhattan where the rapper T.I. was headlining a show on Wednesday night. But what happened next was not what they had come to see.

A man staggered behind a white couch just before a door flung open and a gunman, identified by the police as the Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave, entered the room followed by two other men. He bobbed his head in search of his target, fired one round, then, after a pause, lifted it again as he walked out of the video frame. A man near the corner shielded a woman as she writhed in fear.

The dramatic scene was captured in an eight-second surveillance video clip released by the police on Thursday as they searched for what led to the shooting the night before. Ronald McPhatter, 33, was killed; three others were shot, including the suspect; and another three were injured in the resulting stampede, the police said.

Mr. McPhatter, who was also known as Edgar, was an associate of Troy Ave, 33, whose real name is Roland Collins. Mr. Collins, who was treated for a graze wound to the leg, was arrested on Thursday and charged with attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

I'll be honest, this is the first I've heard of Troy Ave. I know TI, by name, if little else.

T.I. is another "featured" who had major success between 2000-2010. Can't say I like any of it.

Former Glee Star Mark Salling Indicted on Child Pornography Charges Now I can't like this as a crime, but it couldn't happen to a better group on rubbish! Glee has invaded the Top 40 many times with nothing but remakes and they never lasted more than a week,2 if lucky. Glee is also the Top act to outnumber the rest in the Hot 100. I have to commend these outings as we already know who out latest role models are. Sorry, maybe I'm getting old. I will never forget David Bowie, M. Jackson, Prince, just to name a few. A federal grand jury has indicted actor Mark Salling on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography on his laptop computer and a flash memory drive, the Department of Justice announced in a press release.

The former Glee star, 33, was named in a two count indictment alleging he received videos and still images of child pornography involving young girls in December 2015, the release states.

The laptop, a hard drive, and a USB flash drive seized from Salling's residence allegedly contained thousands of images and videos depicting child pornography, according to investigators, who are continuing to review the material, the release states.

Salling, through his attorney, has allegedly agreed to surrender to federal authorities on June 3 to face the charges in the indictment, according to the release. He is expected to be arraigned on the indictment on that date, the release states.

Salling was best known as Noah "Puck" Puckerman on Ryan Murphy's musical series, which ran on Fox from 2009-15.

"It doesn't matter who you are or what you do, if you hurt a child you will be held accountable," said Lt. Andrea Grossman, Commander of the LAPD Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. "These images are more than photographs, they are child abuse."

was taken into custody last Dec. 29 after the Los Angeles Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children unit obtained a search warrant for his home in Sunland, California.

Salling's past is not without incident: Back in January 2013, he was sued by an ex-girlfriend for sexual battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence. The woman, Roxanne Gorzela, alleged that Salling pushed her to the ground during an argument after forcing her to have sex without a condom. Gorzela eventually dropped the sexual battery claim, and Salling agreed to pay her about $2.7 million.

In December, a close friend of Salling told PEOPLE, "This isn't the guy I know at all," He added, "I have to believe his computer was hacked."

According to the release, receiving child pornography carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in federal prison and a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years. Possessing child pornography also carries a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison.

PEOPLE's calls and emails to Alan Eisner, Salling's attorney, were not immediately returned.

CHRIS BROWN HEAD STOMPS FAN AT CONCERT

Chris Brown exploded in anger and stomped on a man's head during a concert ... and the victim is now gunning for some justice.
Malek Mokrani attended a Brown concert in Cannes on May 18 ... it's clear a fight erupted and something clearly upset Chris, because you see his shoe turn into a weapon.
It's unclear if Mokrani was involved in the fight or just collateral damage.
He tells us he went to the hospital with neck and head pain and plans on filing a police report.
We reached out to Brown's rep. So far no word back.

The View frontman Kyle Falconer forces Glasgow-bound flight to be diverted to France:

The lead singer and frontman of British indie band The View, Kyle Falconer, was detained in France after reportedly becoming 'violent and disruptive' on-board a Jet2 Flight from Barcelona to Glasgow, according to reports on Saturday 18 June.

Falconer, 29 – whose band came to prominence with hit single Same Jeans – is alleged to have become verbally abusive to onboard staff when he was moved to a separate seat away from his girlfriend.

The flight was forced to make an unscheduled stop in Nantes, France, following Falconer's outburst, where he was forced off the flight and restrained by French police.

Desiigner Arrested on Drug and Gun Charges

G.O.O.D. Music MC Desiigner was arrested in New York City Thursday night (Sept. and charged with gun and drug charges, according to a spokesperson for the NYPD. The arrest stemmed from an alleged road rage incident that resulted in police pulling over an SUV in which the rapper was a passenger.

"It looks to be a road rage incident involving a Cadillac Escalade around 42nd Street and 8th Avenue in which words were exchanged and a firearm was brandished at the victim's vehicle," a spokesperson for the NYPD told Billboard. According to the NYPD, Desiigner (born Sidney Royel Shelby III) and four other unidentified people were in the SUV when the argument took place and after the gun was pointed at the unidentified victim the driver took down the SUV's license plate and called 911 to report the incident; the news was first reported by TMZ.

"When the vehicle was stopped there were controlled substances in plain sight and everyone inside was arrested," Navarro said, noting that they appeared to be prescription pills. All five people in the SUV were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell. Only Desiigner was hit with an additional felony charge, felony criminal possession of a loaded weapon and menacing.

At press time the NYPD spokesperson said it appeared that the "Panda" rapper was still being processed at the 14th precinct.

A rep for Def Jam, Desiigner's label, could not be reached for comment at press time.

Another one to add to the list. Bobby Shmurda Sentenced To 7 Years In Prison, Guilty Plea Withdrawal Denied

Bobby Shmurda was formally sentenced to today (Oct. 19). After accepting a plea deal, the Brooklyn rapper will be serving seven years in prison.

Last month, the “Hot Ni**a” rapper plead guilty to conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon charges.

According to NBC New York, on Wednesday (Oct. 19) Shmurda told the judge he actually wanted to withdraw his guilty plea, but the request was denied.

Billboard reports that Shmurda told the judge, “”I was forced to take this sentence, I did not want to take this sentence. I was forced by my attorney to take this plea.”

Reportedly, Shmurda could have got an even lighter sentence if he ratter out fellow GS9 rapper Rowdy Rebel, which he refused to do.

The only silver lining here is that Shmurda should be getting credit for the time he served. He was unable to raise bail and has been incarcerated for about two years while he awaited trial.

Considering if he gets good behavior, he may be out in three and a half years. Either way, it seems like the up and coming Brooklyn rapper caught a raw deal.

Aaaah yes, was waiting on this one .... Why not simply allow convicts to make music from now on?
Travis Scott Reportedly Arrested After Concert in Arkansas for Inciting a Riot

Travis Scott was reportedly arrested after he performed a show in Rogers, Arkansas, Saturday night.

According to TMZ, the concert ended with police taking Scott away. Officers reportedly met the 25-year-old Houston native as soon as he exited the stage.

Video from the concert last night shows Travis Scott thanking the fire marshals and security before he heads off stage. "All I want is peace and love," he says.

Scott was reportedly booked for disorderly conduct, endangering the welfare of a minor, and inciting a riot. He was released without bail around 11:30 p.m.

Following their initial report, TMZ added more information regarding what went down. According to a statement from Rogers Police Department, Scott "encouraged" fans in the back of the venue to get closer to the stage and bypass normal security protocols, which resulted in a hanful of injuries, two of which were a security guard and a cop.

A source close to Scott said the rapper asked fans to get closer as he saw extra space upfront for general admission attendees, and had no intention of anyone getting injured.

Scott is known for creating a raucous environment at his concerts. In 2015, he was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct for getting the crowd a little too turnt at Lollapalooza in Chicago. Scott told the crowd to climb over a security barricade to reach the stage and a “stampede” ensued, injuring at least one concert-goer.

Things haven't gotten much calmer in the two years since then. A fan jumped from a second-floor balcony at a Scott show in New York City two weeks ago, and another jumped from a third-floor balcony and was injured as a result.

Rapper Webbie Arrested for Allegedly Holding Girlfriend Captive, Beating Her

Rapper Webbie, whose real name is Webster Gradney, Jr., has been arrested in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on domestic abuse charges after allegedly holding his live-in girlfriend against her will at a hotel room with his entourage for about two hours on Wednesday (July 5).

According to local television station WVLA, Gradney allegedly physically abused the victim with a closed fist, an open hand and a belt. The victim also told authorities that Gradney pinned her on the ground at one point and pushed his knees into her throat so she could not breath for several seconds.

The Advocate reports that the victim had a fractured nose that left her coughing and spitting up blood. She also had belt whelps up and down her thighs and back. Gradney also allegedly stole the victim's cell phone and damaged the Comfort Inn hotel room where they were staying. Police called to the scene at 6:26 a.m.

Charges against Gradney include aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree battery, domestic abuse by strangulation, false imprisonment, theft and simple criminal damage to property.

The rapper is a Baton Rouge native but now lives in Atlanta. The victim told authorities she has lived with him in Atlanta for the past 11 months and that they were visiting Baton Rouge for the Fourth of July weekend, along with members of his entourage. She also said on the arrest report that Gradney had been consuming marijuana and cocaine for the two previous days without sleeping at all, The Advocate reports.

Following the incident, both Gradney and the victim were brought to a local hospital but Gradney was not seriously injured and was brought to Parish Prison following.

The victim also told authorities that this is not the first time Gradney had abused her physically and verbally, according to WVLA, though this was her first time reporting it.

Gradney was previously arrested in 2012 for battery and robbery, when he allegedly kicked a woman down two flights of stairs. In 2011, he was arrested on drug possession and tampering with evidence charges after he was pulled over following a performance in Kentucky. And he was also arrested in 2008 following a high-speed police chase in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on charges including driving under the influence and felony eluding.

Webbie has frequently collaborated with Boosie BadAzz and released all five of his studio albums on Badazz's Trill Entertainment label. Webber's sophomore album, Savage Life 2, peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and topped the Rap Albums chart. His last release was Savage Life V in 2016.

Akele from WSTRN has apologised to "friends, family and supporters" after being sentenced to four and a half years in prison.
Akelle Shemai Charles and his brother Naeem Neil Phillip-Charles were given a total of eight years after being charged with violent disorder.

R Kelly's always seemed an odd case to me. He does some tremendous sad thoughtful songs, which set him apart from the other 99% of rap/R&B guys. But IRL...

YoungBoy Never Broke Again Arrested on Kidnapping Warrant in Florida
Rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again was reportedly arrested in Tallahassee, Florida, Saturday night (Feb. 24) for an outstanding warrant.

The 18-year-old rapper, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, came into contact with law enforcement Saturday, and it was discovered that he was a fugitive from Georgia for allegedly committing assault, weapons violations, and kidnapping, TMZ reports.

The "No Smoke" rapper is reportedly scheduled to appear in court Monday.
Billboard has reached out to NBA YoungBoy representatives for comment.

This isn’t the first time the rapper has been in trouble with the law. In 2016, NBA YoungBoy was arrested in a case connected to a series of shootings in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, according to TMZ.
