As the "UK invasion" progresses, we get introduced to After The Fire this week.

Nice to see the Sheffield band ABC in at number 36. I don't think Poison Arrow was their best effort, I prefer 'The Look of Love', but still great New Romantic stuff all the same.

I have fond memories of number 29, Phil Collins and 'You Can't Hurry Love', a cover of the Diana Ross number - I always remember having it on an old yellow cassette tape which I played in my then state-of-the-art Sony Walkman, lol.

I liked Africa by Toto but thought that 'Come on Eileen' by Dexys was a terrible song - a song that was so un-Dexys imo and which, also imo led to their demise despite being number one for ages. Just goes to show what happens when a band stray away from their roots.

Adam Ant was always a rave - liked all his stuff, especially his debut hit, 'Ant Music'.

Duran Duran, Culture Club two classic 80's NR bands but the best at the top of this chart for me is Stray Cats Strutz - really fond memories of that one with the awesome double bass.
