My Life on MTV - World Stage
Also billed as an alternative rock band from the UK, U2 did at least push the archivists here who had footage from December 1981, as well as a multitude of other performance and other footage. Again, U2 knew the value of playing to the US crowd and cleaning up as a result.

U2 - The Rebirth of Cool: U2 in the Third Millennium
Another unofficial effort, from sometime around 2008, before the No Line on the Horizon album. The cast, who included Paul Gambaccini and journos like Lucy O'Brien and Johnny Rogan, discussed the somewhat unpopular Pop album, the somewhat unsuccessful Million Dollar Hotel film, the comeback album All That You Can't Leave Behind and its successor How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb.

Re: The unforgettable U2
Bono revealed a tale about having a secret half-brother last year, which I've omitted to mention before now.
U2 are back at #1 in the UK album charts with Songs Of Surrender, in which they've redone 40 of their songs, partly in connection with a memoir Bono put out last year called Surrender, which also seems to have passed me by until now.
