Another of these compilations, this was more generous to his Faces era, but pretty rubbish for post-70's material.
Still a watchable series, but showing videos is a complete cheat, and in context of following on from the first collection, a disgrace in using new performances of old songs. The most up-to-date footage here was from 2018. I was bemused to see he seems to have headlined Glastonbury back in 2002, a performance not seen fit for repeat, even in the lockdown lean years.

Re: Rod Stewart
He recently had to curtail a gig in Plymouth owing to a curfew cut-off time which he had gone beyond.
The Sarah-Jane Mee Show: Sir Rod Stewart
The singer dropped into a news-room for 10 minutes to talk some politics, and about being on tour in Europe next year, plus plans for a new album of jazz, also coming next year. He will be playing his rock stuff less, though clarified news stories that he was completely turning away from it forever. He was unsure about the prospects of AI.

Said new album gets released next month. Swing Fever is a collaboration with Jools Holland, looks about as imaginative as his awful Clive Davis-backed Songbook series, and which he promoted on...misery guts wrote:The Sarah-Jane Mee Show: Sir Rod Stewart

Jools' Annual Hootenanny 2023
Rod made his debut here, sang a few songs from the new album, and got to enjoy PP Arnold doing The First Cut Is The Deepest. Besides her, Raye, Sugababes, Joss Stone, Olivia Dean, the Mary Wallopers, Paul Jones and the inevitable Ruby Turner were also there to sing. At least PP and Paul were in Rod's age bracket. Paul got a good response during a bash at Pretty Flamingo, exhorting the audience "this time, sing it properly!"

The album came out this week, and went to #1 It's his 8th such original in the UK, and 11th overall. It's Jools' first ever chart-topper, though.misery guts wrote:
