The Old Grey Whistle Test: Elton John Band
From Christmas 1974, a fairly decent set of hits, ending with a cover of White Christmas, and following the (famous) cover of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds with a cover of I Saw Her Standing There, as he made plain he respected both Lennon and McCartney. His band included Ray Cooper on percussion, and the Muscle Shoals Horns too.
In more up to date and less positive news, Elton has suffered further delays to his ongoing Farewell tour, as he himself has got covid.

Re: Elton John
His Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour has reached the UK stage, and he's unveiled a special mural at Watford's ground to mark that he'll be playing a gig or two there.

He's today announced the last date of his final UK tour will happen next June on the Sunday night whilst he headlines the legendary Glastonbury Festival!

The most hyped gig of the weekend, but he and his band delivered. The likes of Ray Cooper, Davey Johnstone and Nigel Olsson have been with him for decades too. He welcome guest contributions from Rina Sawayama, Stephen Sanchez and Jacob Lusk, as well as Brandon Flowers. He ended with Rocket Man.
He later finished the tour in Stockholm.
Beth Rigby Interviews: David Furnish
In the days leading up to the big Glastonbury show, David talked about their AIDS foundation, and hopes to end the disease by 2030. They've had a big involvement with Ukraine too. He wouldn't let on who the mystery guests would be.

Re: Elton John
There's to be a forthcoming exhibition of his photography. Obviously over a half-century career he's met and known many of the great and the good, and some of them will be reflected in the results.
Also long-term collaborator Bernie Taupin had a book out recently

Elton John (Live at Wembley)
From the old Empire Pool, later renamed as Wembley Arena, this lengthy show from 1977 was notable partly for the odd rare inclusion (such as Cage The Songbird and Where To Now, St Peter?) but also the starry finish. Bringing on Kiki Dee so they could do Don't Go Breaking My Heart is one thing, but he followed that with Stevie Wonder coming on so they could do Bite Your Lip (Get Up and Dance) which I certainly didn't expect. A great show, overall.
