Re: Hot 100 Chart Moves:
Kylie Minogue's new album went to #1, her 8th, making her the first act to have #1 albums in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s.
In less cheerful news, the annual Christmas deluge is expected to start earlier this year, with Mariah Carey already in at #60

In 30+ years of following the charts, one of the most depressing mornings. Mariah Carey's Christmas hit is finally #1 in the UK after a mere 26 years. It entirely shows up the basic flaw, not with streaming, but with the rules for composition of the charts, as I've been whining for years.

Yes, the news made it to the states late yesterday. Given the obnoxious charting system we have, I suspect this will happen every December from here on out until the system is changed. No doubt she'll return to #1 in the states as well. It's difficult to chart in December because of this. Same chart, different year. It's highly annoying to those of us who have been following the charts for decades. From Jan.-Nov. we get gangsta rap & sexually explicit garbage. Then December comes and it's all holly jolly. I'd call it a sick joke, but it's much more than that.
I've said this before. Once upon a time I followed the charts so I'd know what to listen to. Now I follow them so I know what to avoid.
Re: Hot 100 Chart Moves:
They belong in a separate "seniors" chart. Whether you like Drake or Ariana or Dua Lipa or not, they don't deserve to be belittled for a month every bloody December.

Re: Hot 100 Chart Moves:
The post-Christmas effect again saw 2/3 of the UK top 40 drop out, including last week's top 8, allowing #9 to rise to #1 which it would have been anyway without the Christmas intrusion.
