Again, the whole "featuring" rubbish counts against this; when you see only 3 or 4 tracks which are credited to her & her alone, then it points up the silliness of the whole thing (and they tend to be her more memorable songs, too).
Surprised her part on Will I am's Ch-Check It Out didn't make it.

Could not agree more. Sadly, this is today's mental state of music and we all know that these so called "artists" would practically be one-hit wonders if they only did solo crap. Today, to be famous in the music world, a newbie must feature the flava of the month. I find it quite insulting to original artists, Aretha Franklin, and others. The Beatles never "featured" anyone anymore than Elvis or any other famous act from the good days of music. Today's charting method is an insult to them at best. Duets should count in these charts, though unless Minaj is the primary singer in a featured song, I call BS. What's also sad is that the Top artists one day will be KanYe, C Brown, N Minaj, Lil Wayne, et al. The Beatles will still be remembered for generations to come. These people are just trends that when forgotten will be like an eraser to a chalk board.

'Get Back' was "The Beatles w/Billy Preston". But yeah, it's an exception that proves the rule. And whilst Aretha Franklin has done the odd duet (hello, George Michael), it's again very much not the norm.Adric wrote:The Beatles never "featured" anyone anymore than Elvis or any other famous act from the good days of music.
The situation where folk like Calvin Harris, David Guetta or Will I am (to name but three of the worst offenders) can feature half a dozen acts at a time, and they're all supposed to count equally, is both ridiculous, and over-emphasises the silliness of the system. It's one reason I stopped paying close attention to who had how many UK #1's
