Thought I might have done a Monkees thread, but never mind...
Sad news, the 2nd Monkee after Davy. Somewhat under-rated compared to the others, but a likeable guy often given the worst material in the show. RIP

Gutted by this news. One of my very very favorite bands that have never left me.

Yes, sad to read about that. TT might not have had that many hits in the UK, but they were still respected in some quarters. RIP

Multiple-award winner composer and top conductor Andre Previn has died at the age of 89. Despite much success and acclaim, he is best remembered in the UK for a sketch with Morecambe & Wise involving Grieg's "Piano Concerto"
RIP

The Prodigy's distinctive frontman Keith Flint has taken his own life. He was 49. They had 2 UK #1 singles in 1996, Firestarter and Breathe. Their associated album of the time The Fat of the Land was also their high watermark. RIP

Queen guitarist Brian May has announced the death of the band’s original bassist Mike Grose.
“Yes — not a jolly time for us. Mike Grose was Queen’s first bass player. Around 1970, Roger invited him to come up to London from Cornwall to rehearse with us, putting those first songs together. He was a powerful figure, with powerful gear ! His sound was massive and monolithic ! In the end the liaison didn’t work out, but we owe Mike gratitude for helping us take those first steps. RIP Mike. Bri.”
Queen also recently suffered the death of their tour manager.
“Gerry Stickells, the world’s greatest tour manager passed away after a long struggle with illness.
He was more than a tour manager to Queen – he was a father figure, great friend and teacher and an island of calm in the midst of chaos. He had a profound effect on my life, all of it good.
From his early days with Jimi Hendrix through all the years with Queen and Paul McCartney, Gerry was THE MAN! We will miss him greatly and send love to Sylvia and the family at this difficult time.
With great sadness,
Roger.”
Condolences to the Queen family as they are going through a tough time.
