BBC Radio 2 In Concert - Duran Duran
Quite a lengthy set at the BBC Radio Theatre in London, playing several tracks from the new album, benefitting from the guest guitar work of Blur's Graham Coxon, and the vocal addition of Ivorian Doll on one track too. The crowd ate it up.

Commonwealth Games - Opening Ceremony
A lengthy and at times bizarre performance, which included both Tony Iommi and Soweto Kinch, but which closed with a short set from Duran Duran, during which they segued through Save A Prayer, Planet Earth, Tonight United and Ordinary World, which seemed to work better than their shorter turn during the Platinum Party thing.

During Duran Duran's recent induction at the R&R Hall of Fame, they revealed that former band member Andy Taylor is battling Stage 4 prostate cancer:

Original member Andy Taylor came into the limelight again lately to say that his health has improved thanks to a new experimental drug. He's also just released a new solo album, Man's A Wolf To Man, though it doesn't seem to have made the top 100 

Their new album Danse Macabre came out this week, and entered the UK chart at #4, in a very competitive week. There seemed 2 singles, Black Moonlight, which got radio play, and the title track, which had a spooky video. The album itself seems a bit of a mish-mash project.

They've been announced as headliners for next year's Latitude festival, which will be their only UK date of 2024.

Radio 2 In Concert: Duran Duran
Interestingly, an early show from the Hammersmith Odeon back in late 1981, and thus pushing their first album, including such forgotten tracks as Night Boat and Sound Of Thunder. They did "play a new one" but it was only Last Chance On The Stairway, which again in hindsight seems bizarre.

Simon Le Bon was awarded an MBE in today's King's Honours list, for services to the industry and yachting (maybe not the yachting)
