On Feb 3, 1959 I was 9 years old. My big brother was in the horse pasture with me when we heard the news on his new yellow transister radio. I saw something fade in Larry's blue eyes, but I was too young that day to feel the impact the teenagers did.

On Feb. 3, 1974, Larry died. He was four days from his 30th birthday. I was 25. I was old enough to feel the impact this time..........and something faded in my heart and soul. I would never be the same. Only the years were different for both tradgey's. Rest in Peace Buddy. Rest in Peace Larry. Your little sister.

I was too young to remember that, but ..... you dropped me off at "Kinder Care" one day and you and my teacher were both in shock about John Lennon.

Post  nitesoulflyer on Fri Dec 17, 2010 8:41 am

Seasons In The Sun came out in 1974....just weeks it seems since Larry's death. Please listen if you will. It is hauntingly telling the story of my brother and I. It may even make you feel the same for the death of your idol Micheal Jackson.

Sorry to hear about this sad coincidence. It is true that sometimes music can strengthen a memory in times like those.

Not just 'Seasons in the Sun' there (always a favourite of mine), but also the reflective quality of 'The Way We Were'.

Thank you so much for your comment Mirsey. You have a compassionate heart. I am Adric's (Alex's) mother. Larry was his uncle. Sadly, when my brother died Alex was so young he probably can't remember him. But Larry adored his little Scottish nephew. His father was Scottish and I was an American living there at the time.

I will be posting much more in future days since I now have the hang of things............Best to you, Susan Arnett (Nite)
