Re: Doctor Who
The Face Of Evil Not the best episode, but The Doctor meets Leela. Nice blast from the past!
Re: Doctor Who
Well, it's very nearly April 3rd which is a date those lucky fans in the UK are anxiously awaiting. If you're in the states, Matt Smith makes his debut as the Doctor on BBC America on the 17th April. Re: Doctor Who
Very very sad news and the word of this literally had me crying today. I've not seen any news articles as of yet, but tributes to him are all over Facebook. I don't know the circumstances as of yet, but am sure news articles are surfacing as I write. Words can't express how devastating this is to fans of the wonderful Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart. Found a nice youtube tribute HERE . I think this news has inspired me to watch several UNIT epis through the week. Deeply saddened as I've dreaded the day this news would come to light. Feels like losing a family member. RIP :mcry:

Yes, a sad day. Last I'd heard, he hadn't been too well, and he was 81. But still...
One of the nicest men, and one of the best characters, the show ever had. RIP

Re: Doctor Who
More deeply sad news has come to light. Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith) has passed away after battling cancer. What a sad day for Doctor Who fans. She was so full of life and it simply comes as a major shock. R.I.P. my beloved Sarah Jane. You're memory will always live on.

From what I know, The Sun is worth the paper it's written on, but I thought this to be a wonderful tribute. Best Girl In Doctor Who Ever. Tom Baker expresses his sorrow and shares memories. Last night, I got nice and drunk and watched SW / SJA for hours. Today as I sober up, I am facing the reality that my Sarah Jane is no longer with us.
When she would get teary eyed in her final few seasons, I now see that wasn't just acting. She could make me cry just by getting teary eyed herself. I wonder, were the tears we saw Sarah shed true tears of sadness?
I've read that they did complete two episodes of SJA that would have aired later this year. I'm sure there will be a ton of footage from her last filmings to see. It's unlikely they will air them now. I am hopeful that the BBC will make a "Tribute" dvd in her honor with the newest SJA's included. I believe that she would like that. I wonder if Steven Moffat might consider putting young Luke in the Tardis. He was, after all, Sarah's son. He was a fine young actor and that in itself would be such an honor.
Please visit Doctor Who World for any and all updates on this sad news. Truly wonderful forum.

Re: Doctor Who
That's a nice use of a great picture

2 eps down, and it's looking good so far. Vaguely Americo-centric start to the series, for those who like that sort of thing

Re: Doctor Who
US viewers note that the series will take a break for Memorial Day, thus leaving them 1 week behind UK viewers (which is still not that bad, really).

It came back tonight (in the UK) - not sure if there's not still a few hours to go in the US, though (and a whole week for Australia).

Re: Doctor Who
To borrow a cliche from another show, it was "too short a season", but I expect that's as much to do with ratings battles as the showrunner having too much on his plate.

Find out tomorrow, as Jenna-Louise Coleman joins the fold on a regular basis (presumably), Vastra and Strax return, and Richard E. Grant finally gets to chew scenery in the show

Re: Doctor Who
Oscar-winning 55-year-old Scotsman Peter Capaldi has been cast as the next incarnation of 'Doctor Who'. He's best known for being in films like 'Local Hero', and telly series like 'The Thick of It', and he appeared in the series in 2008. Good luck to him

Despite the convictions of One Direction fans that today is their big day, today IS the 50th anniversary of the first broadcast of Doctor Who, and tonight will see a worldwide broadcast of special new episode 'The Day of the Doctor'
