Murder Plot: Convicted Murderer Planned To Kill, Castrate Pop Singer

A murder plot targeting Justin Bieber surfaced on Wednesday, revealing that three men were involved in a plan to kill and castrate the superstar singer in New York City last month.

Convicted criminal Dana Martin, who is currently serving two life sentences for the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl in Vermont in 2000, devised the plot to kill Bieber at his sold-out Madison Square Garden show in November, KRQE News 13 reports.

Martin recruited former fellow inmate Mark Staake, who in turn allegedly recruited his nephew Tanner Ruane, to strangle Bieber and his bodyguard with a paisley tie and then castrate them, according to KRQE. Ruane even had the pruning shears. But the Bieber murder plot was foiled when Martin, who reportedly is an obsessive Bieber fan with a tattoo of the teen singer on his leg, turned in his accomplices.

Staake, 41, was arrested by federal agents on Nov. 19 in Vermont on violation of felony probation for aggravated burglary with a deadly weapon in New Mexico, News10 ABC previously reported. Ruane, 23, was arrested at a gas station in Rotterdam, N.Y., the following day. He was found with murder tools and documents containing information about the intended victims.

Martin's murder-for-hire plot involved other targets as well, including multiple unnamed individuals in the St. Albans, Vt., area, News10 reported.

This is not the first murder plot to target Bieber.

Last October, an individual created a Facebook page threatening to kill Bieber while he performed at Peru's National Stadium, according to Hollywood Life. "Justin Bieber you better not come to Peru, it will be the biggest regret of your life," warned the page's creator. There were also plans to throw eggs and water bottles at the singer at the show.

It's a sad, and often sick, world we tend to live in. Such incidence like this is the price of fame. At least they got caught before it was too late

An alleged plot to kill and castrate Justin Bieber was revealed last year, shocking the entertainment world.

Details spoke with Dana Martin, the mastermind behind the plan, who is currently serving a life sentence for killing a 15-year-old female. Martin, along with Mark Staake and Tanner Ruane, were charged with multiple counts of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder in the Bieber case. Martin has admitted to plotting to kill and dismember the pop star, his bodyguard and two Vermont residents.

The gruesome plan immediately begs one question -- why Bieber?

"It isn't just so people will know who I am," Martin told Details. "It's because he changed, and that made me angry."

Martin claims Bieber's evolution into a more urban, adult artist is phony. After persistently writing letters to the teen -- both directly and through Ellen DeGeneres -- and not receiving a response, Martin made the decision to kidnap and kill Bieber.

"Fame I don't really care about," Martin explained. "Wanting to be remembered for posterity, that is what is important to me."

The felon also wanted special access to the singer -- as a friend -- something his life behind bars prohibited.

"Anybody on the streets, all these girls that are his fans, can look at Bieber anytime they want to on their cell phones, they can read anything they want, they can tweet him, they know where he's going to be, they can go see him-just buy tickets and walk in," he said. "I can't do that."

Even though his plan was foiled, and Staake and Ruane are maintaining their innocence, Martin claims to have more hit men trying to realize his goal. Simply put, in Martin's own words, "It's still on."

" ... This isn't going away. Do you really think that I would stop?" he said. "Honestly? I tell people I'm not going to stop. And I'm not gonna stop. So if you're Justin Bieber, wouldn't you want to, like, do something to make this go away? ... Until something bad actually happens to him, they are going to treat it as 'Oh, Martin's just crazy, he doesn't have nobody.' I was kinda hoping that with what I did, it would show them."

According to the felon, there is something Bieber can do to end the murder plots. The singer or his manager, Scooter Braun, would have to meet with Martin.

"I've written to the district attorney saying that I'll plead guilty, I'll even testify against my two partners -- I just want to have a sit-down with Justin Bieber ... they just won't do it," Martin says. "To them that's just bizarre."

On the subject... I am getting hacked off with this trend, as seen with him & Eminem to pick 2 examples, where there's a new track counted as a single every week, presumably cross-figured to an album. It's another bad facet of the current shoddy state of the industry  

Well, he apparently got arrested today and a lot of people celebrating the fact lol. Drag racing while drunk and high??? He needs to be in jail, though I'm sure he'll be out be day's end. Money talks and bullshyt walks, so to speak. The infuriating part is that his holding cell is likely nicer than my apartment and he's signing autographs and being treated like royalty. Let this be you or me ... we'd be sitting in the tank for months just waiting for a court date as bail would be impossible.

Have to agree, it smacks of being a publicity stunt. Whatever he did, or didn't, do, he'll get the reflected kudos of being 'rebellious', which will no doubt enthral his fans all the more

Justin Bieber Lawsuit: Canadian Pop Star and Usher Face $10 Million Copyright Infringement

The lawsuit involving Justin Bieber revived on Thursday by the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond states that he and Usher is likely to face the jury for copyright infringement for copying parts of the song created by Virginian songwriters. The lawsuit filed in May 2013 worth $10 million says that Bieber and Usher copied parts of the song of Devin Copeland and his songwriting partner Mareio Overton.

In the lawsuit, the 21-year-old Canadian crooner and the 36-year-old rapper was alleged to have copied the title of the song 'Somebody to Love,' as well as its lyrics, beat pattern, time signature, and chords. Copeland, an R&B singer popularly known as De Rico, and his partner Overton filed the charges two years back, but it was discharged by a judge in Norfolk last year for differences in lyrics and tone, the Daily Mail reports.

"After listening to the Copeland song and the Bieber and Usher songs as wholes, we conclude that their choruses are similar enough and also significant enough that a reasonable jury could find the songs intrinsically similar," Circuit Judge Pamela Harris wrote in a statement. The decision was made after garnering a 3-0 vote.

The defendants accuse the Canadian pop star and Usher of copying their song tone and melodies with striking resemblances.  Aside from the two, Sony/ATV Music Publishing and the Universal Music Publishing Group were also mentioned in the lawsuit.

'Somebody to Love' was featured in Bieber's 'My World 2.0' album. It hit Billboard Hot 100 chart on number 15 spot and became smashed hits in countries including Germany, Canada, Japan, and New Zealand. Aside from Bieber, Usher had also recorded a remix version of the song and had also used the same in coming up with another adaptation, where he was featured as the lead vocals and Bieber as the guest artist.

While the lawsuit is intended to be heard in the lower court, De Rico and his partner Overton stated that they had reached the camp of Bieber and Usher to inform them of their violations, according to CBS News.

Can't stand either Usher or Bieber, so I might not be too impartial on this one. The rows about sampling have been going for 35-40 years now, and it rarely ends well. I think if a composer has created a good tune (see James Brown or Chic) then it's a bit feeble that someone else comes along with a rap or a remix or something and wants to clean up the money.

That said, the Jason Nevins remix of It's Like That turned a song I had never heard of into a huge hit, and Run DMC bitching that he contributed nothing is a bit feeble.

Justin Bieber tops UK singles chart and breaks top 40 record





Justin Bieber has topped the UK singles chart with Sorry, ending Adele's three-week run and breaking a chart record for the most tracks inside the top 40.
The chart features eight songs from Bieber's new album Purpose, the first time a living artist has had so many simultaneous entries.
However the Canadian singer failed to keep One Direction from the top of the UK album chart with Made in the AM.
Their first record as a four piece is the fastest-selling album of the year.
Made in the AM sold 93,189 copies in its first week, beating the record previously held by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds album Chasing Yesterday, and outselling Bieber by just over 3,000 copies.
However Adele is expected to outstrip them all over the next week, after her third album 25 was released today.

Bieber fever
Adele's track Hello had kept Bieber from the top of the singles chart for three weeks, but he finally claimed the top spot with combined weekly sales of 104,000 - including 5.35 million streams.
He dominated the top five, with three tracks including Love Yourself at three and former number one What Do You Mean? at five.
His eight top 40 entries see him break a record set by Elvis Presley in 1957, when he had seven songs in the top 40 singles chart.
Fleur East's Sax was at number four, while former X Factor winner Ben Haenow's debut album debuted in the top 10 in the album chart.

One Direction's first album since the departure of Zayn Malik earlier this year is their fourth out of five albums to top the chart, following 2012's Take Me Home, 2013's Midnight Memories and 2014's Four.
The boyband recently performed their final tour date before they take an extended break.
Former UK number one album If I Can Dream by Elvis Presley was in third place this week, while Alone in the Universe by Jeff Lynne's ELO entered the chart at four.
Little Mix's third album Get Weird rounded out the top five while Kylie Minogue's festive release Kylie Christmas debuted at 12.
Despite a Facebook campaign to get US band Eagles of Death Metal into the singles chart, their cover of Duran Duran's Save A Prayer failed to make the top 40.
The band were performing at Le Bataclan concert hall in Paris last Friday when gunmen opened fire, killing 89 of the 130 people left dead during attacks across the city.

Was there really not already Bieber threads? [/pedant]

This "8 records in the top 40" thing is just a spurious vibe that reflects the shonky stature of the charts these days. If you look at the top 100, both Bieber and One Direction have hatfuls of songs in there this week, which does not reflect well. It doesn't even reflect all that well on the two acts.

I find a certain quirky amusement in the EoDM story. The campaign pushed them doing a cover version, because somehow supporting their own songs is too much? Complexity, their current single, is pretty decent. I get that EoDM are in some respects a less serious proposition than some bands, but Josh Homme is still one of the coolest dudes in rock, and it feels like the music press would have preferred some other band to have been on the spot during this tragic crisis, which is depressing in its own way.

The Beatles' 50-year-old record broken by Justin Bieber

The Fab Four may have been outlived by their chart record – but it took a 21-year-old Canadian to break it.

Justin Bieber has 17 songs on the December 5 Hot 100 chart, beating The Beatles's 14, which has been teh most by any one artist since April 11, 1964. The Beatles’ record had been equalled by rapper Drake in March and again in October, but Bieber is the first artist to topple the legendary band as record holders.

The Beatles aren’t the only British supergroup to have been overtaken by Bieber this week. One Direction's fifth, an dpotentially final, album, Made in the AM, was beaten to the top spot by Bieber's new record, Purpose, which debuted at number on eon the Billboard 200.

Of the 18 songs on the deluxe edition of Purpose, 17 singles have entered the chart – with the majority of the new entries being driven by online streaming.

The record breaking feat was boosted the release of videos for each song on Bieber's album. The only song from the album to not enter the charts is album closer All In It.

The Beatles held the record for the most songs on the Hot 100 in a single week for more than 50 years. In April 1964, the height of Beatlemania, the group's 14 singles were led by Can’t Buy Me Love and Twist and Shout at number 1 and 2, respectively. That same year, the Beatles had five singles in the top five – a feat that no artist has matched since.

Three of Bieber’s songs are currently in the Hot 100’s top five, an accomplishment only achieved by two other acts: the Beatles, for eight week sin 1964, and 50 Cent for two weeks in 2005. Bieber and the Beatles are the only acts to do this as the lead artist on all three songs.

Bieber's hit single Where Are Ü Now, which was produced by Skillrex and Diplo, won the American Music Award for best collaboration. The singer also performed three of his songs, although came under fire from some critics who suspected him of miming.

However, the success of Bieber’s latest album is expected to be eclipsed by the release of Adele’s third album, 25, which sold 2.3 million copies in its first three days in the US.

Bieber's single Sorry was expected to debut at number one when it was released, but it was beaten by Adele’s surprise comeback single Hello. Nonetheless, the Purpose track topped streaming records he previously set with What Do You Mean?

FWIW, Bieber broke his own record this week by adding a 9th concurrent top 40 hit to the UK mix. He's like the Michael Phelps of music

This year's "Christmas #1" race had some variation in that the latest X Factor contestant fell badly short, thus leaving the spoiler alternative to take on Justin Bieber instead. When it was revealed earlier in the week that the charity record was close behind Bieber in sales, JB himself tweeted to encourage folks to buy it and deny himself the top spot. And that's what happened.

And of course, he'll be #1 again next week anyway, I'd think, so it's a faultless piece of PR.

Given his number of chart hits in the last 3 months of the year, I think it's probably going to be the case that he is the Top Singles Artist of 2015 in the UK.

He's back in cahoots with Ariana Grande on a new track: Stuck With U. They've done it as a charity fund-raiser, and it went to #1 in US.

However tiresome rapper and ex-con Tekashi 6ix9ine has sparked ire because he claimed the Bieber-Grande effort should not have been a chart-topper, and that they bought 10,000 copies themselves to make sure it did. His claim is not unrelated to the fact that it prevented his own comeback single from getting to the top. Bieber & Grande have denied his accusation, and Billboard have refuted it.

Justin Bieber has refuted allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman going by the name of "Danielle" in 2014.

The woman, who tweeted from an anonymous account Saturday night (June 20) that was removed from Twitter shortly after Bieber publicly commented on the situation, claimed the incident took place at a hotel in Austin, Texas, on March 9, 2014.

"I don’t normally address things as I have dealt with random accusations my entire career but after talking with my wife and team I have decided to speak up on an issue tonight," Bieber wrote on his own Twitter account Sunday night (June 21).

"Rumors are rumors but sexual abuse is something I don’t take lightly," he continued. "I wanted to speak out right away but out of respect to so many victims who deal with these issues daily I wanted to make sure I gathered the facts before I made any statement."

"In the past 24 hours a new Twitter appeared that told a story of myself involved with sexual abuse on March 9, 2014 in Austin Texas at the Four seasons hotel. I want to be clear. There is no truth to this story. In fact as I will soon show I was never present at that location," said Bieber. "As her story told I did surprise a crowd in Austin at Sxsw where I appeared on stage with my then assistant side stage and sang a few songs. What this person did not know was that I attended that show with my then gf Selena Gomez."

Bieber posted links to news articles, as well social media photos and screenshots of emails and lodging receipts, from the time period in question.

He said he did not stay at the Four Seasons, the location of the alleged incident, but spent the night of March 9, 2014, at an Airbnb and March 10, 2014, at the Westin.

"Every claim of sexual abuse should be taken very seriously and this is why my response was needed. However this story is factually impossible and that is why I will be working with twitter and authorities to take legal action," Bieber wrote.
